Longer Story:
Well, it’s been a long while everyone, huh? The world really got turned upside down the last year and a half but it looks like things have gotten to a place where we may be able to reliably start a dart season again.
Now, we’re down to do this, but I’m not going to lie… there’s a lot to it and we’re going to need a lot of teamwork and patience from everyone to get this back up and running. The first season is going to be different than other seasons we’ve had, we may have to be creative with schedules, divisions, awards, masks and local policies, and everything else. We’ve lost a lot of our old sponsors and, sadly, too many of our players and community members. Honestly, I have no idea what to expect in terms of turnout.
Divisions may be weird. Our budget won’t be what it was in past seasons as everything ramps back up. But we can get darts flying again, stats accumulating, and some good drinks flowing… and I know a lot of you have been chomping at the bit for that. So if you’re down for rolling with the punches as we get going, lets do it.
Also, if there was ever a season where you wanted to pitch in and help, this would be it. We are going to need some manpower. Personally, my family had a fire late last year and lost 90% of what we own. The league lost a lot of the machines it makes awards with and various other supplies. We still haven’t quite come back to normal and while I don’t want to let PDL just fall away, I will definitely need help with logistics this year.
I’d also like to thank everyone who’s gotten in touch about the season (both Mondays and Wednesdays). I haven’t been able to get back to everyone, and for that I apologize, but it’s been a real whirlwind of a year for us on TOP of the normal 2020 craziness. Moving forward I’ll make sure to get communications out through this site and Facebook as often as possible.
Also, the regarding the partially completed season from the spring… the best thing to do is start a fresh season with all of the changes that are likely. All stats will remain and any individual personal achievements (180, R9) will be recognized with this upcoming season’s awards.
That said there are really a ton of details to get into and questions to answer. Expect more information to come shortly but I wanted to get these dates up for all of you who have been asking. Stay tuned for more info…
