Spring 2019 Wednesday Schedule!

Alright ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for another Wednesday season!  The schedule is done, and man ALIVE have there been some changes!  Lets take a look at what the season has in store for us:

(1)  This season we’re going with 2, 8-team divisions rather than our normal 3, 6-team divisions. Normally we prefer 6 team divisions… they make the competitive balance better in general… but this season there just wasn’t a great way to break the teams up into three solid groups.  This also allowed us to construct a schedule without any Byes and keep the A and the B on the same timeline.  Additionally, everyone will be headed to a few new places to that always keeps things fun.

(2)  We have some new teams!  Rich Henry is bringing Tori O’Toole’s back into the league with an A-division team and a brand new team is coming in and playing out of Tee Dee’s.  Most of the A-division guys know them from around, but it’ll be interesting to see how the new faces fare here.

(3)  We also have some teams with roster changes… from minor (like Kelly’s #2 adding some depth) to major (like FLB’s losing Tom, Ross and Andrew).  So when you look at the team names just keep in mind those teams might not be the teams you remember.

As for the Division specifically, lets look at them in order…

Queens A Division

This division is going to be crazy.  Two brand new teams, FLB’s a half new team, and Recovery Room #2 moving up after a wire-to-wire dominant championship season in B… it’s hard to even take a stab at the outcome on paper, let alone after people start playing the games.  There really isn’t a single team that’s out of playoff contention and that’s what it’s all about.  Some teams have some question marks but very few have any glaring weak spots and every match has the chance for an “Any Given Wednesday” kind of result.  It’s going to be an Arms Race.  Get it.  Darts.  With your arms?  Yep.  The darts will be better than the jokes, I bet…

Queens B Division

There are some standout individual players in this division, for sure, but no team has a monopoly on good shooters and the squads are pretty fairly balanced.  Some look stronger on paper and some a little lighter, but nothing that a hot 500 night or a key player missing a couple of weeks won’t adjust for… and again it really is hard to put out a guess as to what the playoff teams will be with any level of certainty.  One thing is for sure, though, there WILL be a new B champion with Recovery Room moving up so get hungry folks, it’s yours for the taking…

So get in touch with a league officer if you have any questions.  If you weren’t at the Registration meeting and need a folder, pick them up at Recovery Room with Debby or Anthony Dimino.  And without any further hoopla or ado…
